I have now written six photography books for mainstream publishers (Ammonite Press and for Rocky Nook); four are street photography books, one is dedicated to black & white and the other is about portrait photography. I regularly publish zines and books showcasing my own work, usually in the form of specific projects.

My seventh street photography book - ‘A Street Photography Manifesto’ - was recently published across the world by Rocky Nook. This isn’t a book about street photography techniques, it’s about inspiration, motivation, critical success factors, getting your work out there and the psychology of street photography.

The Prague in these images is not the untouched fairy-tale city found in guidebooks. It is a place re-negotiating its place in history - a city balancing its rich cultural identity against the relentless pressures of mass tourism. Souvenir shops replace family businesses; short-term rentals reshape neighbourhoods; streets that once belonged to residents increasingly belong to visitors, stag and hen parties, tour groups of 20, 30 40 or more, all following the same familiar routes.

Zine by Brian Lloyd Duckett - The Ditch

Shoreditch: feisty, vibrant, noisy, hedonistic, brash, diverse, colourful, creative, smelly, edgy, arty, bustling, hipster-ish. It’s difficult to find enough superlatives to describe this wonderfully individualistic suburb of East London.
The images in this project were created to reflect a personal and honest interpretation of the essence of a unique place; the unusual, the unexpected, the outrageous, the peculiar, the exciting, the ironic, the witty - it’s all here.

Zine by Brian Lloyd Duckett - BOLOGNA

Bologna, the capital and largest city of the Emilia-Romagna region in Northern Italy, is known by its three nicknames: la Rossa (‘the red’), la Grassa (‘the fat’) and la Dotta (‘the learned’).
Did I mention that I adore Bologna? Every corner is steeped in history yet it combines the old with the new as stylishly as anywhere in the world.
This is a personal collection of images which aims to convey the essence of Bologna, a mixture of travel and street photography shot during a hot week in July, 2024.
